"Tenspeed and Brown Shoe" is an American detective television series that aired on ABC from January to June 1980. The show starred Ben Vereen as "E.L. Turner," a stylish, fast-talking con artist, and Jeff Goldblum as Lionel Whitney, a straight-laced accountant. The two characters team up to form an investigation agency called Tenspeed and Brown Shoe, with E.L. providing the street smarts and Lionel providing the book smarts.
The series was created by Stephen J. Cannell, who was known for creating a number of popular television shows in the 1970s and 1980s. Despite positive reviews from critics and a talented cast, "Tenspeed and Brown Shoe" was canceled after only 14 episodes due to low ratings.
